About Dr. Henault

Dr. Henault is a native of Massachusetts and has gratefully lived in Austin since 2004. She has two grown children who are both full time college students. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling (B.S.), a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work (M.S.W.) and a doctorate degree in Psychology (Ph.D.). She is a Master Hypnosis Trainer with the International Association of Counselors & Therapists (IACT), a Certified Hypnotherapy Trainer with the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) and is the founder and trainer of the Academy for Clinical Hypnosis Professionals: www.clinicalhypnosisacademy.com. She is also a certified hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists.

Dr. Henault is a psychologist who specializes in the rapid change techniques of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic-Programming. Ms. Henault has been practicing "hypnosis therapy" since 1999. She is an internationally trained hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner and has formally trained in NLP and hypnotherapy in over 8 countries including North America, Mexico, Sweden, France, Scotland, Ireland, England, and the Netherlands. Dr. Henault's extensive training and knowledge allows her to utilize the most advanced hypnotherapy techniques available. This allows her to assist clients to heal emotional, physical and behavioral problems very quickly and with a tremendous amount of satisfaction. As a matter of fact, even the most severe forms of depression and anxiety can be resolved in approximately four to six sessions. Dr. Henault also assists clients to release painful feelings and emotions stored in the body, thus allowing it to regain its health.

With a background in psychotherapy, Dr. Henault has always been dedicated to empowering adults, children, and adolescents to live up to their full potential and remove emotional blocks since 1992. Dr. Henault became interested in hypnosis because traditional "talk therapy" frequently yields poor results and clients rarely achieve the changes they desire. Determined to find more effective methods to help her clients feel healthier and happier, Dr. Henault started studying and utilizing hypnotherapy instead of traditional psychotherapy — and when she did clients got better very quickly! She realized that hypnotherapy is a very powerful, efficient, and effective tool in helping people replace limiting beliefs, behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes with ones that will allow them to make the positive life changes that they have struggled with for so long in the past.

Why Quit Smoking?

Give yourself the gift of reality and stop fooling your mind! Yes, maybe you do know someone who smoked until they were 90 years old but that is the exception and not the norm!

The fact is that smoking cigarettes kills approximately 440,000 Americans each year - more than alcohol, cocaine, heroin, homicide, suicide, car accidents, fires, and AIDS combined. The Center for Disease Control states that more than 12 million Americans have died prematurely from smoking cigarettes since 1964.

Cigarette smoking harms every organ in the body. It has been conclusively linked to leukemia, cataracts, and pneumonia, and accounts for about one-third of all cancer deaths. The overall rates of death from cancer are twice as high among smokers as nonsmokers. Heavy smokers increase their death rate by four times as compared to nonsmokers. Lung cancer is the most common of all cancers caused by smoking. Cigarette smoking has been linked to about 90 percent of all lung cancer cases, the number-one cancer killer of both men and women. Smoking is also associated with cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, cervix, kidney, ureter, and bladder.

In addition to cancer, smoking causes lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and it has been found to exacerbate asthma symptoms in adults and children. More than 90 percent of all deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases are attributable to cigarette smoking. It has also been well documented that smoking substantially increases the risk of heart disease, including stroke, heart attack, vascular disease, and aneurysm. It is estimated that smoking accounts for approximately 21 percent of deaths from coronary heart disease each year.

Although there is only a small amount of nicotine in each cigarette it is a poison. Exposure to high doses of nicotine, such as those found in some insecticide sprays, can be extremely toxic and cause vomiting, tremors, convulsions, and death. In fact, one drop of pure nicotine can kill a person. Nicotine poisoning has been reported from accidental ingestion of insecticides by adults and ingestion of tobacco products by children and pets. Death usually results in a few minutes from respiratory failure caused by paralysis.

The following pictures are not pleasant to view but they are reality. One of Dr. Henault’s goals is to get you to realize that smoking cigarettes is a matter of life and death.
